About CHADD

CHADD is a national, nonprofit organization that has been instrumental in putting a human face to the life-impacting disorder of AD/HD and the many neurobiological conditions and learning differences that frequently accompany it.

We are working to raise societal and community awareness on the challenges and struggles that families and individuals face on a daily basis and ways in which they can help ease the strife.

September 7, 2004 marked the first ever "National Attention Deficit Disorder Awareness Day" - Senate Resolution 370. This gave validation to many of us who must deal with large segments of our society that are unaffected and oblivious to the true facts of AD/HD.

CHADD Chapter #605 was started in response to community members voicing concern and frustrations in their attempts to find resources and support.

In order to find the type of understanding and compassion that will provide a sense of relief for people struggling with the same issues, it is imperative that they hear "their story" come from someone else sharing their own personal experiences with AD/HD and how it has, and is, affecting their life. I believe it is a powerful moment when they realize that they are "not alone."

Thank you for visiting our site and please don't hesitate to call us and/or come and visit us - you are not alone.

With support & understanding,
Mary L. Cross - Coordinator
